Lexi WINS Beach Blanket Babylon's
Scholarship for the Arts and $10,000!!!!

Lexi Viernes was one of three finalists
dancing at BEACH BLANKET BABYLON June 7th, 2010 at Club Fugazi in San
Francisco. The top prize for the dance category is a $10,000
scholarship.
The evening was full of supporters and
celebrities alike. They received a record number of submissions this
year so this was no small feat. Don Bleau was perfect as the MC and Da
Mayor Willie Brown kicked off the show. Many were many celebrity judges
and many celebrities in the audience including Michael Tilson Thomas
(sitting next to Shely), George Schultz(former Secretary of Labor,
Secretary of the Treasury, and Secretary of State), his wife Charlette
Swig, and many others.

More casting has been announced for the
Chicago run of Billy Elliot the Musical, to play at Ford Center
for the Performing Arts Oriental Theatre in Chicago.
John Peter (J.P.) Viernes will join
previously announced stars Tommy Batchelor, Giuseppe Bausilio and Cesar
Corrales — who will alternate in the title role. The production
opened in April 2010 prior to a
multi-city tour.

Peter Chursin joins "Complexions"!
Peter has ended his run with the Broadway revival of
West Side Story and has joined the
Complexions Contemporary Ballet in NYC.
Complexions Contemporary Ballet is a
contemporary
ballet company founded in 1994 by
Artistic Directors
Dwight Rhoden and
Desmond Richardson based in
New York City comprising about twenty classical and contemporary
dancers. Complexions performs worldwide, provides dance education, and
was America's first fully
multicultural ballet company.
Complexions has received numerous awards including the New York Times
“Critics Choice” Award in 1995. It has appeared throughout the US,
including the
Joyce Theater,
Lincoln Center, the
Brooklyn Academy of Music's Majestic Theater, the Mahalia Jackson
Performance Arts Center in New Orleans, the
Paramount Theatre in Seattle, the Music Center in Los Angeles, and
the
Bolshoi Theater.
Dwight Rhoden has created over 60 ballets for Complexions, as well as
numerous other companies, including
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; the
Arizona Ballet; the
Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Company; the
Dance Theater of Harlem; Dayton Contemporary Dance Company; the
Joffrey Ballet; and
New York City Ballet among others
Desmond Richardson uses a wide range of dance forms including
classical, modern, and contemporary, having previously been with the
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater,
Ballet Frankfurt and as a guest artist with several world-renowned
companies including the
Swedish Opera Ballet, The Washington Ballet, Teatro at La Scala, and
the
San Francisco Ballet.
